For some time now I have been working on a solution to share contacts and calendar events between Macs, and others. I have come up with Address Book Server. This is not the same as the one included in Snow Leopard Server. Mine has been available for about 2 years now and supports 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6.
This project is available as shareware at this point, but I am looking for other skilled people to get involved to expend the team and maybe move towards open sourcing the entire project. It seems to be that it could fit nicely into the diymacserver world.
I'm sorry but here at DIYMacServer we only work with open source initiatives. We don't develop software, we only help out others by using open source software to get a functional web and mail server on the Mac platform.
When you've changed your licence model we will be happy to include your software in the setup. There is some interest in a free open source vcard and calender server .
Thanks for replying. Address Book Server is offering a FREE 5 user license key until the end of November. Currently I am the only developer working on the project with some help from time to time from one or two others. So until I get more developers onboard, there is no benefit in going open source.
However if I could get more people to join the project and contribute this could change quite quickly.
