PHP logo To install PHP on Mac OS X there are, just as with Apache, several options one could use. I’ve chosen the most simple setup that will get most PHP based applications running that we need for the mailserver and such.

You can start by downloading the latest source archive from and select the instructions that fit your purpose.

Using the DIYMacServer Apache installation

Using the default Apache installation:

If you want to use these instructions with the default Apache installation instead of our DIYMacServer Apache installation you will need to replace the string:




and all will work as instructed with the default Apache installation.

Please note that configuration and logfiles are in the original location and not the ones we point to in our instructions.
